Where mastering sits in your pipeline

Mastering treats one stereo mix bounce so it survives different playback chains. Start from a balanced mix—tracked vocals in our vocal booths or a band session, then mixed to stereo. Lefsenlayerco has operated in Nakameguro since 2019 across 3 rooms including a 38 m² live area when you record and finish under one roof.

Speech-heavy shows may need leveling in podcast recording or edit workflows instead; tell us the format upfront so we do not double-charge for the same task.

Listening environment

Sessions run in a tight, treated room with decisions made on 2 calibrated nearfields. Meters support what you hear—peaks and integrated loudness targets are checked before export. We favour transparency over hype: pop, rock, jazz and electronic each get a different touch, but the mix’s intent stays audible.

Files to send

Supply a mixed stereo WAV—24-bit preferred, sample rate matching the project. MP3-only sources may be rejected. Leave at least a second of head silence; obvious clipping is sent back for remix.

Include reference links, track order for EPs/albums, release dates and file naming rules via [email protected]. We handle data under our Privacy policy. Large uploads can be cloud links.

Workflow and turnaround

Mastering is offline—attendance is optional. Standard turnaround is quoted per project after files and deposit land; single tracks often return within a few business days. Rush jobs depend on calendar and may add fees—ask through Contact.

Post-delivery tweaks fall under Delivery: 2 rounds included. Major creative pivots or extra songs need new quotes. Working files remain 12 months, then delete—store your masters locally.

Delivery formats

Master delivery formats lists defaults. Typical outputs:

• Streaming: 16/44.1 or 24/48 WAV
• Hi-res on request: 24/96 when specified upfront
• CD manufacturing: DDP image (quoted separately; plant specs required)
• Instrumental or TV mixes count as additional masters on the quote

Delivery is via encrypted download or your drive. Postal media is cost plus handling.

Rates

Prices include 10 percent VAT; net example ¥9,000 for B2B paperwork. Albums beyond six tracks price by count—see Services.

30 percent deposit, balance before final files (Payment). Cancel before work starts with 5 days’ notice when possible (Changes and cancellation).

Out of scope

Mastering fees do not cover:

• Mixing, vocal tracking or band recording
• Writing, arranging or re-recording parts
• ISRC assignment, store delivery, artwork
• Unlimited revisions or endless alternate masters for AB tests
• Copyright registration or legal drafting

Mix problems—noise, phase issues, harsh masking—rarely disappear in mastering alone; fix the mix first when we flag them.
